Carol did you see the picture on Twitter where it looked like a Sedin and maybe Loui
took all the sushi and food and put it on a players seat?

I think that's just where the food is laid out for them - they seem to work more on a 'grab what you want' basis than the flight attendant service that the rest of us know from flying commercial.

The caption seems to indicate that the point of interest is the Sedin Facetiming a look at the food back to one of his kids?

I thought maybe they were pulling a prank on Hutton or someone.

There are some very encouraging things about the Canucks this year, Sedins getting appropriate ice time, never quit attitude, great face off winning percentages, the play of the top line. There are others but I’m not into making a list.

There are also some concerns I see, everyone’s talking about a more exciting team, but not getting any shots on net for 15 straight minutes over two periods is a concern. Where is the excitement, watching the goalie make some phenomenal saves to keep the team in the game? I’m not liking Greens PP set plays, needs to adjust that, it is also causing too many short handed attempts against. I would like to see more from Virtanen, if you’re going to bench him after St. Louis second goal, then bench everyone responsible for a mistake.

I could go on about concerns also, but there is always two sides to view the team.

Virtanen is for some reason held to a much higher standard with green

Thanks Carol,

Not sure I agree with the Sutter line shutting down the Tarasenko line considering the chances they had but not sure any line would of fared better either.

As much as Nilsson had a couple of weak plays, I thought he was solid as well. Deserves more starts IMO.

To say Brock is a good skater and strong defensively, sorry those appear to be his biggest weaknesses along with being an ice hog.
Several players appear to have the Sedin mentality when it comes to line changes, Brock, being one of them.
During one of those occasions it was the direct result of a goal against.

If the argument is that the Blues got possession to activate the delayed penalty when they gloved the puck down, the play should have been blown dead then—not after Vanek put the puck in the net.

Serious weaksauce there. Travis Green had every right to blow a gasket over that mess.

Sorry, but I disagree. If the ref accurately see's what happens, the result is no goal, Vancouver to the powerplay 5 on 4. The ref doesn't accurately see what happens, but the result is what it should have been. A little ridiculous to get that upset when the only difference between accurate officiating and inaccurate officiating was the whistle going a couple seconds later. Side note, Blues don't have to have possession, they just have to control the puck. Seems like semantics, but actually is different in NHL rules.

No idea how all 4 officials missed the too many men, that should have been called but instead cost Canucks. Plenty of calls were missed on the Canucks too, but none led directly to goals like that.

Trade Nilly at the deadline and bring up Demsey for the remainder of the season.

I don't get this line of thinking...

Virtanen has improved under greens watch, he uses benching and the press box to teach. He did the same with Baertschi, shinkaruk, Jensen, Gaunce in Utica but didn't with guys like banks, Hamilton etc.

His mandate is to teach the youth not get the sedins to change their game. His method might not work for every player or at all but considering Virtanen's improvement over last year, I think his decisions likely deserve some more leash at this point with Jake.

My personal opinion is that Jake still needs to be playing in Utica but at this point I think Green has a better handle than me.

i like having 2 goalies pushing each other.
If Demko is ready to play in the bigs, ok then.
I'm not sure he is ready yet and couldn't do with some more seasoning in the AHL.

You think he's ready after a year and a half with Utica?

Exactly, Jake has to learn to be an every shift player.

I want jake to either be in utica or be playing regular shifts with his line mates. Stl goes up a goal and virtanen doesnt see another shift in the period. I think Virtanen has actually played well in his showings, but i want to either see him play on vancouver or play in utica, not sure benching him or sitting him is doing anything for him. Not really understanding the benching or sitting thing as a good method of teaching, but i guess hes the coach and im the fan.

Maybe i’m way off, as I didn’t watch the game, but isn’t Virtsey playing with Seds and Seds? Didn’t they all have roughly the same amount of even strength ice time? Isn’t the lack of ice time for Virtsey a result of playing on a line that was being matched against an opposition line that didn’t play much versus being “benched”?
